Getting Offices Reopened - Your Covid-Safe Guide

09 Jun 2020

Events

  • Creating a Covid-Safe Environment to enable a Hybrid Workforce

  •
  • As businesses start to reopen their offices and begin to move out of lockdown, many are faced with the challenge of working out how to do this. How to ensure the safety of employees and colleagues, whilst making sure people are able to return to work and get businesses back to a more normal way of working?

  • There are many areas that need considering in order to make this happen, including:

  • Tick BB.svg defining one-way systems around offices

  • Tick BB.svg guidance for use of communal spaces such as lifts, toilets and kitchens

  • Tick BB.svg organising a desk booking system or rota to ensure 2m distance

  • Tick BB.svg detailed Health & Safety Assessment

  • Tick BB.svg deciding whether to, or when to, provide PPE to employees

  • Tick BB.svg clear rules on what happens if there are any cases of Covid-19

  • Tick BB.svg detailed cleaning schedules to avoid cross-contamination

  •
  • But even if all of this is in place – who should be coming back into your offices? And how do you make sure everyone feels confident that it is a safe environment to return to?

CANCOM UK OFFICE Some

  •
  •
  • It’s all about communication

  •
  • Communication has proved to be a critical element of reopening our offices. Keeping our staff informed and reassured about what we’re doing and why we’re doing it, as well as, making sure everyone knows this is purely voluntary. If staff can continue to work from home, they should.

  •
  • But if they want to – or need to – return to an office, they are able to do so safely.

  •
  • We are not encouraging non-essential travel and we are actively discouraging the use of public transport unless unavoidable. To counter this we have introduced interest free loans to help purchase or upgrade scooters and bikes.

  •
  •
  • Business Continuity to Business ‘As Usual’

  •
  • Re-opening offices is only one of the many issues our customers are having to address in order to meet the ever-changing needs of organisations, as a result of Covid-19.

  •
  • How will this hybrid style of working impact your work culture? And do you have the right technology and processes in place to ensure security, compliance and governance? As well as, the right levels of adoption, collaboration and productivity?

  •
  • These are all issues CANCOM is helping our customers address. Please get in touch if you would like advice or to discuss aligning business continuity to business-as-usual.

  •

*The documents provided represent CANCOM’s chosen approach to office re-opening based on our research, our own employees and our knowledge of the premises in which they work. We are very proud of the steps we have taken but they are based on CANCOM’s opinion and should not be taken as guidance or advice on how to minimise the spread of COVID-19 or any other disease. Customers should use them for general information only and seek their own specific professional advice based on their individual circumstances.
